Why you need Perplexity?
Perplexity is an AI-powered search tool.
It is not Google. It doesnβt make you read a bunch of search results to find your answer.****Perplexity provides quick concise answers only.
It is not ChatGPT. ChatGPT is still the go-to tool for most creative and complex tasks, but it is not good with real-time information. Perplexity is always up-to-date and reliable.
Perplexity is the ultimate research companion for copywriters.
It does web research for us and gives us only what we need to know.
Doing research 10X faster
Every copywriting project starts with research.
Before you write anything, you need to understand the product, company, industry, and target audience.
Before Perplexity, I had to:
- Go to the companyβs website.
- Go over their social media channels.
- Read the product pages.
- Read product reviews.
- Figure out who the target audience is and what their pain points are. With Perplexity, I learn all those things in seconds.
I use a single prompt to get my answers.

Perplexity answers with a single page that has all the information I need.
Think how much time you save this way!

How to research effectively with Perplexity
Use Pro mode
Activating Pro mode makes Perplexity explore more websites and use advanced AI engines to give us better answers.

Free users have 5 Pro searches a day, so use them wisely. (If you upgrade to premium, youβll have 300 searches a day).
Change the focus
You can ask Perplexity to focus on different types of search results and get more accurate answers.

For example:
- When I look for product reviews, I prefer the opinions of people from Reddit, so I change my search focus to βSocialβ.
- If you know YouTube videos will have the answers you need, change the focus to βVideoβ.
Ask follow-up questions (and use your library)
If you arenβt satified with your answer, ask a follow up question.
Perplexity remembers your previous questions so you can treat this process like a conversation.

Also, your library stores all your past searches.
Make collections, bookmark important information, and curate pages to share with others.

Bonus: understand trends
With Perplexity, I learn everything faster, and this tool is especially handy when Iβm not in a loop.
For example, I will ask for Perplexity if I donβt understand a meme.
